Storing Oreo Truffles:

Store Oreo Truffles in a covered container in the fridge to keep them fresh and maintain their shape. If stacking them, place parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking and smudging. Once firm, sticking usually isn’t an issue, but the parchment ensures easy handling and a neat presentation. For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to a month—just thaw in the fridge before serving! Keep them chilled until ready to enjoy!

Pro Tip:

Customize your Oreo truffles by experimenting with flavored Oreos, different types of chocolate, or fun toppings! These truffles are perfect for gifting, parties, or enjoying anytime.

Ingredients

  • Ingredients
  • 30 (340g) Oreo cookies (regular, with filling)
  • 3 tablespoons (45g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 to 5 tablespoons milk
  • 8 ounces (225g) chocolate (dark, semi-sweet, or white; about 1½ cups chopped)
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon vegetable oil to thin the chocolate

Instructions

  1. Prep the Baking SheetLine a medium-sized baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
  1. Make the Oreo CrumbsAdd the Oreos (including the filling) to a large food processor. Pulse until they are finely crushed into crumbs.
  2. Combine the IngredientsAdd the melted butter and 2 tablespoons of milk to the Oreo crumbs. Blend until the mixture holds together when pressed. If needed, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time until the dough is firm and not crumbly.
  3. Shape the TrufflesScoop out 1-tablespoon portions and roll them between your hands to form smooth balls. Arrange the balls on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Too crumbly? Add more milk and blend again.
  5. Too sticky? Chill the dough for 10–15 minutes before rolling.
  6. Chill the TrufflesFreeze the shaped balls for at least 15 minutes or until firm. If you’re not dipping them right away, transfer them to the fridge for storage.
  7. Melt the Chocolate
  8. Microwave Method: Place the chopped chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 10-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  9. Stovetop Method: Use a double boiler. Simmer 1 inch of water in a pot and place a heatproof bowl of chocolate over it (without the bowl touching the water). Stir frequently until melted.
  10. Cool the Chocolate If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil to thin the chocolate. Let the melted chocolate cool for 5 minutes to prevent melting the truffles during dipping.
  11. Dip the Truffles Drop one Oreo ball into the chocolate and gently toss to coat. Use a fork or dipping tool to lift the ball, tapping off excess chocolate. Place the coated truffle back on the parchment-lined sheet.
  12. Garnish with flaky sea salt, crushed Oreos, or a drizzle of chocolate while the coating is still wet.
  13. Set and Store Chill the truffles in the fridge or freezer until the chocolate coating is firm. Store them in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to serve. Use parchment paper between layers if stacking.
