Ingredients

Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the Bread Coating:

  • ½ cup fine breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder or paprika

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken:

  • Cut chicken breasts into cutlets or fillets. Pound thicker parts to ensure even thickness.

Season the Chicken:

  • In a small bowl, mix oil, salt, and pepper. Rub this mixture all over the chicken cutlets.

Make the Coating:

  • In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, flour, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, basil, salt, and chili powder.

Bread the Chicken:

  • Place one cutlet at a time into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently so the coating adheres well. Flip and repeat.

Air Fry:

  • Place the coated chicken fillets in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each.
  • Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 8–9 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes until golden and cooked through.

Rest and Serve:

  • Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot with your favorite sides.
