A cheesy tater tot casserole with beef, creamy sauce & golden tots. Perfect family dinner, potluck, or weeknight comfort meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup (or cream of chicken)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • 1 bag 32 oz frozen tater tots
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika optional, for color
  • 2 green onions sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Prep

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Cook Beef

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with onion over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess grease. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Mix Sauce

  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, half the shredded cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.

Assemble

  • Spread the beef mixture evenly into the baking dish. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the top.

Bake

  • Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until the tots are golden and crisp.

Add Cheese

  • Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese over the tots. Bake for another 5 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Serve

  • Garnish with sliced green onions if desired. Serve hot and enjoy!
