Homemade McDonald’s Sausage, Egg & Cheese McMuffin in 30 minutes. Crispy muffin, savory sausage, melty cheese, and perfect eggs—your favorite breakfast, made better.

Ingredients

  • 4 English muffins split and toasted
  • Butter or oil for toasting muffins and cooking
  • 4 sausage patties homemade, store-bought, or vegetarian
  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of cheese cheddar, American, or your favorite

Instructions

Prepare the Muffins

  • Butter each muffin half and toast them on a skillet until they're golden-brown and crisp. Remove and keep warm.

Cook the Sausage Patties

  • In the same skillet, cook sausage patties over medium heat for about 3–4 minutes per side or until browned and fully cooked through. The skillet will already hold flavor from the muffins—no extra prep needed. Set the patties aside and let them stay warm.

Cook the Eggs

  • Using greased ring molds or mason jar lids, crack an egg into each mold in the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook until the whites are set and the tops are firm, usually 2–3 minutes, depending on your desired yolk doneness. This method gives you neat, perfectly shaped eggs that fit well in the sandwich.

Assemble the McMuffins

  • On the bottom half of each toasted muffin, place a slice of cheese first—this acts as a delicious barrier that prevents the muffin from becoming soggy. Top with a sausage patty and then the egg. Cap with the remaining muffin half and press gently to lock the layers together.

Serve or Wrap

  • Enjoy immediately for the best texture and taste. If you need to save them for later, wrap in parchment or foil and reheat gently in a toaster oven or air fryer to restore crispiness.
