There’s something truly legendary about a dish that supposedly prompts a proposal after just one bite. Marry Me Chicken is that kind of meal—a masterclass in comfort that combines golden-brown chicken with a silky, sun-dried tomato cream sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breasts or thighs cut into cutlets
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour for dredging
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil from sun-dried tomato jar
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 16 oz gnocchi or pasta of choice
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the gnocchi or pasta in salted water according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then dredge lightly in flour.
  • In a large skillet, heat butter and tomato oil over medium-high heat. Brown chicken for 4–5 minutes per side; remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté garlic and sun-dried tomatoes for 1 minute.
  • Stir in oregano, red pepper flakes, chicken broth, and heavy cream. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Return the chicken and gnocchi to the skillet, tossing to coat thoroughly.
  • Garnish with fresh basil and serve immediately.
