Slow cooked beef and noodles in savory broth. This comforting crockpot beef noodles recipe is the perfect winter dinner idea!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef stew meat or chuck roast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 cups egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

Brown the Beef (Optional)

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the beef until seared on all sides for added flavor.

Slow Cook the Base

  • Transfer beef to the slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, beef broth, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and bay leaf.
  • Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours, until beef is tender and shreddable.

Add Noodles

  • About 30 minutes before serving, remove bay leaf and stir in egg noodles.

Thicken the Sauce

  • In a small bowl, whisk together flour and water.
  • Stir into slow cooker to thicken the broth.

Final Touches

  • Add Worcestershire sauce, mix well, and cook another 30 minutes until noodles are tender.
