Creamy Beef and Shells is the ultimate cozy skillet meal that feels like a big, warm hug in a bowl. There is something so nostalgic about tender pasta shells cradling a savory, seasoned ground beef sauce that’s been swirled with just enough cream to make it indulgent.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 12 oz medium pasta shells
  • ½ yellow onion finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the pasta shells until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the onion and garlic until the meat is fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  • Stir the flour into the beef mixture and cook for 1 minute.
  • Slowly whisk in the beef broth, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Bring to a light simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  • Turn the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream and shredded cheddar cheese until the sauce is smooth.
  • Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet and toss to coat thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
