There is nothing quite like the comforting, aromatic warmth of a freshly brewed cup of Cardamom Tea. This ancient spice, known for its complex citrusy and herbal notes, transforms a simple cup of tea into a sensory experience that is both grounding and invigorating.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water
  • 4-6 Green cardamom pods lightly crushed
  • 2 Black tea bags or 1 tbsp loose-leaf tea
  • 1 Star anise pod optional
  • 1-2 tsp Honey or maple syrup
  • Ice for the iced version

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  • Add the crushed cardamom pods and star anise. Lower heat and simmer for 3 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, add the tea bags, and steep for 4 minutes.
  • Strain the tea into mugs or a heat-proof pitcher.
  • Stir in the sweetener while the tea is warm.
  • For Hot Tea: Serve immediately, with or without a splash of milk.
  • For Iced Tea: Allow to cool, then pour over a glass filled with ice. Garnish with a fresh cardamom pod.
