When you're craving something sweet but want to keep it on the lighter side, these Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites are the ultimate guilt-free indulgence. These bite-sized treats offer all the nostalgic, cinnamon-sugar magic of a traditional churro but with a fraction of the oil, thanks to the magic of air frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • ¼ cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp Granulated sugar
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • Coating: ½ cup Granulated sugar 1 tbsp Ground cinnamon, 2 tbsp Melted butter

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the flour with a wooden spoon until a smooth ball of dough forms.
  • Let the dough cool for 5 minutes, then beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Scoop and roll the dough into 1-inch balls or pipe 1-inch pieces onto a tray.
  • Place the bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
  • Air fry for 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and slightly crisp.
  • While the bites are cooking, whisk together the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  • Remove the hot bites from the air fryer, lightly brush with melted butter, and immediately toss in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until well coated.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
