The golden, glossy glaze on these Honey Butter Chicken Bites is the kind of dinner magic that turns a standard weeknight into a celebration. There is something deeply satisfying about watching a simple mixture of honey and butter reduce in a hot skillet until it forms a thick, mahogany lacquer that perfectly coats every crispy chicken morsel.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken breasts cut into 1-inch bites
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter divided
  • ½ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Green onions sliced for garnish
  • Cooked white rice for serving

Instructions

  • Coat: Season chicken bites with salt and pepper, then toss in a bowl with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  • Sear: Heat oil and 1 tbsp of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
  • Mix: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic.
  • Glaze: Pour the honey mixture and the remaining 2 tbsp of butter into the skillet with the chicken.
  • Thicken: Simmer for 2–3 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce reduces into a thick, sticky glaze that coats the chicken.
  • Serve: Spoon the honey butter chicken over warm rice and garnish with fresh green onions.
