Easy 20-minute honey glazed salmon recipe with garlic and soy glaze—delicious!

Ingredients

For the Salmon:

  • 4 salmon fillets 7 oz each, skin on or off
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp garlic powder

For the Honey Glaze:

  • ½ cup salted butter or olive oil for dairy-free option
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup honey you can reduce to ⅓ cup for less sweetness
  • ¼ cup soy sauce or Tamari for gluten-free option
  • Tip: Use fresh garlic—it makes a big difference in flavor and balances the honey perfectly.

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven

  • Set your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil to make cleanup a breeze.
  • Want more caramelization? A foil-lined pan will help the glaze brown more quickly than parchment.

Make the Honey Garlic Glaze

  • In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter (or warm the olive oil). Add:
  • Minced garlic
  • Honey
  • Soy sauce
  • Whisk together and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it bubble for about 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it slightly thickens. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.

Prepare the Salmon

  • Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the lined baking sheet. Sprinkle each piece with:
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Rub the seasoning gently into the flesh for even coverage.

Glaze the Fish

  • Spoon the warm honey glaze generously over each fillet. Use a brush or the back of your spoon to spread it evenly, making sure the tops and sides are fully coated.
  • Don’t skip this step—this is what gives the salmon its rich, caramelized finish.

Bake

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12–14 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. For extra caramelization, broil the salmon on high for the last 1–2 minutes, but watch closely to avoid burning the sugars.

Plate and Serve

  • Once the salmon is done, remove from the oven and let it rest for 2 minutes. Spoon any remaining glaze from the pan over the fillets before serving.
