These Lazy Cake Cookies use cake mix, eggs, and oil to make soft, chewy cookies in under 30 minutes. Customize with chocolate chips, sprinkles, or nuts!

Ingredients

  • 1 box 15.25 oz / 432 g yellow or white cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup 80 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 cup 170 g semi-sweet chocolate chips (or mix-ins of choice)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Mix the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil. Stir with a spoon or spatula until a thick dough forms and no dry patches remain.

Add Your Mix-Ins

  • Fold in the chocolate chips or your preferred add-ins like white chocolate chunks, M&M’s, chopped nuts, or sprinkles.

Shape the Cookies

  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and space them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and set while the centers still look slightly soft.

Cool

  • Allow the cookies to rest on the baking sheet for 2–3 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
