This Philly Cheesesteak Casserole is a cheesy, low-carb take on the classic sandwich. Ground beef, peppers, cream cheese, and provolone baked into one easy dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 large bell peppers green, red, or mixed, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 oz cream cheese 1 package
  • 8 oz provolone cheese sliced
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

  • Set oven to 350°F.

Cook Beef:

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 7–8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.

Sauté Veggies:

  • In the same skillet, sauté onions and bell peppers for 5 minutes until soft and caramelized. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.

Combine & Simmer:

  • Return cooked beef to the skillet, stir in Worcestershire sauce, and simmer for 2–3 minutes.

Add Cream Cheese:

  • Stir in cream cheese until melted and evenly mixed.

Layer in Casserole Dish:

  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

Top with Cheese:

  • Layer provolone slices over the meat mixture, then sprinkle with mozzarella.

Bake:

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain beef well to prevent greasy texture.
Caramelize the vegetables for sweeter, richer flavor.
Add garlic at the end to avoid burning.
