2black tea bagsor 2 teaspoons of loose-leaf black tea
1ripe mangodiced (or 1 cup frozen mango cubes)
4cupswaterdivided
2tablespoonshoneyor to taste
Ice cubes
Optional: extra mango slices for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Brew the Tea
Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Add the tea bags to a large pitcher and pour in the hot water. Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags. Set aside to cool slightly.
Step 2: Make the Mango Puree
In a small saucepan, combine the diced mango and 2 cups of water. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. While simmering, mash the mango with a spoon or potato masher to create a chunky puree.
Step 3: Strain and Sweeten
Pour the mango mixture through a fine mesh strainer into the pitcher of tea, pressing down to extract as much flavor as possible. Stir in the honey while the tea is still warm so it dissolves easily.
Step 4: Chill and Serve
Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until cold. Serve over ice with fresh mango slices for a beautiful presentation.
