Ingredients

  • 500 g 1.1 lbs minced meat
  • 4 potatoes peeled and diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Optional: Herbs de Provence or chopped parsley for added flavor

Instructions

Prepare the potatoes:

  • Peel and dice the potatoes into small, even cubes for faster cooking.

Sauté aromatics:

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.

Cook the meat:

  • Add the minced meat to the pan. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned and fully cooked through.

Add potatoes:

  • Stir in the diced potatoes and mix everything well to coat in the flavors.

Simmer:

  • Cover the pan with a lid and reduce heat to low. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender.

Season and serve:

  • Add salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with herbs if using. Serve warm.

Notes

Dice potatoes evenly so they cook uniformly.
Add a splash of broth or water if the pan gets too dry while simmering.
