Philly Cheesesteak Garlic Bread

Ingredients

Garlic Butter:

  • Italian loaf
  • 2 garlic bulbs
  • 1 stick butter 113 g, softened
  • 2 shallots
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • Olive oil salt, and pepper

Philly Cheesesteak Filling:

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1 green bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper thinly sliced

Seasonings: onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, chicken bouillon powder (optional), brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper

  • 8 oz mozzarella or provolone

Instructions

Make Garlic Butter

  • Roast Garlic and Shallots: Cut the tops, drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, wrap in foil, and roast at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.
  • Mix Butter: Squeeze roasted garlic and shallots into softened butter. Add parsley and mix until smooth.

Cook Cheesesteak Filling

  • Sauté Vegetables: Cook onions and peppers in olive oil until soft and caramelized. Set aside.
  • Cook Steak: Sear ribeye with seasonings until browned. Combine with vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Assemble and Bake

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Halve the Italian loaf and spread garlic butter over each half.
  • Layer with steak, onion, and pepper mixture, then top with cheese.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
  • Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
