Ingredients

Dahi Puri Ingredients

  • 300 to 350 grams maida[all-purpose flour] for puri
  • 100 grams sooji or semolina
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda.
  • 1 tsp black gram[kalo jeera check]
  • Water required for kneading dough
  • 3 to 4 medium size chopped boiled potatoes
  • 2 medium-size chopped onions
  • 150 to 200 grams beat sweet yogurt
  • 2 to 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 50 grams sev or bhujia
  • 1 to 2 tsp red chili powder [adjust as per need]
  • 1 to 2 tsp roasted cumin powder [adjust as per need]
  • 1 to 2 tsp chaat masala powder [adjust as per need]

Tamarind Chutney For Dahi Puri

  • 60 grams of tamarind
  • 100 grams of jaggery
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 100 ml water[adjust depending upon thickness]

Red Chutney For Dahi Puri

  • 8 to 10 Dried Red Chili[water soaked]
  • 4 to 5 garlic piece
  • ½ tsp white salt
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Water 50 ml

Green Chutney For Dahi Puri

  • 200 grams of fresh coriander leaves.
  • 50 grams of pudina leaves
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic [chopped]
  • 2 to 3 green chili [chopped]
  • 2 to 3 clove
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp amchur powder
  • 3 tbsp chopped onions [optional]
  • Salt to taste
  • Dash of water[add more if required]

Instructions

  • Preparation for dahi puri
  • At first, for preparing of dahi puri recipe peel and chop the boiled potatoes into small pieces.
  • Also chopped onions for later usage.
  • Sweet tamarind chutney
  • Now for making sweet tamarind chutney in a bowl add tamarind, squeeze, and de seeded them with help of some warm water.
  • Then pass it through a sieve and make it a smooth mixture.
  • Next, in a pan pour water tamarind mixture, jaggery, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • Let it simmer until it becomes slightly thick, also check the test of sweetness if needed add more jaggery, then transfer this in a container for later use.
  • Spicy red chutney
  • Now for preparing red chutney for dahi puri soaked some dried red chili in warm water.
  • Then blend them along with a tablespoon of sugar, black salt, white salt, 4 to 5 garlic piece, and a dash of water.
  • Set aside this smooth red chutney paste for later usage.
  • Green chutney
  • Now for, preparing green chutney for dahi puri in a blender pour fresh coriander leaves, pudina leaves, chopped onions, green chili, and a tbsp of chopped ginger-garlic.
  • Additionally blend them together along with a tsp of cumin powder, amchur powder ( dry mango powder ), a pinch of salt, and a dash of water.
  • Frying dahi pure
  • Now for frying crispy puri recipe in a large bowl pour maida or all-purpose flour sooji, black gram, and salt. soda, mix them together.
  • Then pour water in intervals and knead the dough until you get a non-sticky soft dough and rest for some time.
  • Next cut the dough into a circular shape and fried this puri one by one on a medium-high flame until it becomes crispy and golden brown from both sides.

  • Now, for immediately assembling dahi batata puri make a hole on top of these puris and place them on a serving plate and add chopped potatoes, tamarind chutney, green chutney, red chutney, chopped onions to it.
  • Also sprinkle chaat masala powder, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder in it.
  • Finally garnish with sweet dahi, a few tablespoons of sev and chopped coriander leaves from the top and serve immediately.

Notes

Dahi Puri Recipe Note

  1. While assembling dahi puri make sure the curd must be sweet one if not you can mix power sugar with sour curd then whisk properly beofre using.
  2. Keep all the chutneys, dahi , sev ready, after preparing puri immediately assemble everything and serve them quickly otherwise dahi puri will lose its crispiness.
