This Vanilla Cinnamon Milk Tea is my favorite way to hit the reset button after a hectic morning. It’s a warm, indulgent hug in a mug that balances the robustness of black tea with a creamy, spiced sweetness that lingers just long enough to make you crave the next sip.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 high-quality black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick plus more for garnish
  • 1 cup milk of choice Whole, Oat, or Almond
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 –2 tbsp honey or maple syrup to taste
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 star anise optional garnish

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Turn off the heat and add the tea bags and the cinnamon stick. Cover and steep for 4–5 minutes.
  • While the tea steeps, heat the milk in a separate small pan over medium heat until steaming.
  • Remove the milk from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and honey. Use a frother if desired to create foam.
  • Discard the tea bags and the cinnamon stick from the water.
  • Pour the tea into two mugs, filling them about two-thirds of the way.
  • Top with the warm vanilla milk and a dollop of foam.
  • Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon, a fresh cinnamon stick, and star anise.
