Ingredients

  • 200 grams basmati rice
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seed or jeera
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 3 green cardamom
  • 3 clove
  • 2 inch cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon mace
  • 1/8 teaspoon hing
  • 12 to 14 cashew
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 3 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

  • At first, thoroughly wash long grain basmati rice to remove starch.
  • Then pour water and soak the rice for some time.
  • Now for frying spices for jeera rice heat butter in a kadai and melt it on low flame.
  • Then add cumin seed or jeera and bay leaf, green cardamom, clove, cinnamon, and mace.
  • Now saute everything in medium to low flame until everything gets properly roasted and gives a beautiful aroma of spices.
  • Next, sprinkle pinch of hing.
  • Finally, add cashews and fry in medium to low flame till cashew becomes light golden brown.
  • Now for the coking jeera rice recipe add drained basmati rice in kadai.
  • Next tossed rice with whole spices and cashew in high flame for some time.
  • After that pour water into Kadai , a pinch of salt.
  • Next cover and cook jeera rice on low flame until all water is absorbed and the rice is properly cooked.
  • After that sprinkle nutmeg powder, black pepper powder and freshly chopped coriander leaves.

  1. Make sure don't stir spatula often while frying jeera rice , because it may break the rice.
