Vegetable pakora recipe is a deep-fried Indian snack recipe, made with a few indian vegetables, besan and a few aromatic indian spices and herbs. Below is the step by step instructions to prepare this crispy veg pakora recipe at home.

Ingredients

Ingredients for vegetable pakora

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
  • 1/3 cup chopped coriander leaves
  • 3 to 4 chopped green chilies
  • 1 medium size chopped onion
  • 1/2 tablespoon teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon kashmiri red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust as per need
  • 1/2 cup gram flour or besan
  • 1/2 teaspoon ajwain or carom seed
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • dash of water
  • 500 ml oil for deep fry

Instructions

  • Preparing batter for veg pakora
  • At first, for preparing the batter for veg pakora, wash all the veggies thoroughly then in a mixing bowl add shredded cabbage, chopped capsicum, chopped coriander leaves, and chopped green chilies.
  • Then add chopped onion and ginger garlic paste.
  • After that sprinkle kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala powder, salt.
  • Next mix everything well with a spoon and keep it rest as it is for some time.
  • Now add gram flour or besan, ajwain or carom seed, corn starch.
  • After that mix everything together to make vegetable pakora dough. Make sure the dough should not too stiff or soft. Only sprinkle water is needed to bind the mixture together. 
  • How to make vegetable pakora
  • Now to fry vegetable pakora pour oil into a deep bottom pan or Kadai.
  • When oil becomes medium hot, gently deep fry vegetable pakora in medium to medium-high flame.
  • When the vegetable pakora becomes crispy and light golden brown from both sides, immediately take them out from kadai.
  • Finally our mix vegetable pakora is completed serve it hot with tomato ketchup or coriander chutney whatever you like.

  1. You can adjust the spice level by increasing and decreasing dry kashmiri red chilies.
