Bengal Gram

Bengal gram is also called split chana dal or baby chickpea. It usually yellow in colour, small in shape especially rounded on one side and flat on the other.

It is believed that Bengal gram is one of the oldest pulses which were first cultivated in Europe mostly eastern Mediterranean and in Asia mostly Afghanistan and Persia.
